"Computer, open Duty Log."

"Duty Log Open, begin recording."

"Well, I got to lead my first away team. Typical day in Starfleet, I suppose ... board a vessel, regain control of said vessel, and restore the crew on said vessel to sanity. Within one shift.

"Commander St. Dieux picked myself, Lieutenant Vectra, Lieutenant Trull, and Doctor Drakken for the team. We beamed in on deck two, and took the turbolift up to the bridge. When we arrived, we stunned the bridge crew, and attempted to regain control.

"Unfortunately, someone in Engineering set the autodestruct sequence. I sent Vectra and Trull down to Engineering to handle that half of the mission, while the Doctor and I stayed on the bridge to attempt to figure out why the crew was behaving abnormally.

"The Doctor found that due to some area of space the ship had flown through, a crystal matrix formed within their brains, causing dementia. It turns out that the good old universal solvent, water, was all that was needed to dissolve the matrix. We had control of the environment, so sent out a fine mist throughout the ship.

"After the crew began to revive, we got the codes to end the self destruct sequence. On review of the mission, I found out that we only had seconds to spare. Everyone on the mission did a fine job, and once again, we showed that the crew of the Federation is a great one.

"Close log, save, and distribute."

The computer beeped its acknowledgment.
