Preparation for War

The USS Federation is racing through space to Betazed to aid the USS Fragglerock in their supply mission. Since Betazed is currently under Dominion rule, we are expecting to see a lot of combat. I have asked all Science personnel to ready the Science lab for this event. We are currently halting all ongoing projects, and safely storing all chemicals, equipment, and said projects under lock and key. We have been boarded once in an attempt to gain information from this department, and I do not want anything else taken from us. Though, when said boarders already have the information, and just steal personnel, there isn't much I can do as Chief of Science to stop it.

All Science personnel have been reassigned for this mission to help in other areas. Essentially, I have split the department into two groups. One group, under the leadership of Ensign Serik will be helping in sickbay with any casualties or injured people, since as of right now, we have no head in that department. Science is the logical choice to help there, since we have had much of the same training as Medical, though no where near as extensive in anatomy and physiology. The other half of the department, under the leadership of Ensign Sarah Silberman, will aide Engineering in not only keeping the engines running, but in any damage repairs that are needed.

I can't speak for the others in this department, but know I am apprehensive about this mission. Though we have all seen combat, overall, the people in Science are not prone to "enjoying" combat situations, as those in Security and Tactical are wont to be. To this end, we of the Science Department have increased our combat training in the last week. I am certain that we will be an asset to the ship should we be boarded again.
