Duty Log, Lt. Jen Lee
Stardate 9904.29
OK. How to even begin about this shift? I had the entire Science department help out before we reached Betazed cleaning and securing the lab. Then, I gave everyone their assigned battle stations. Half the science crew went with Ensign Serik to help out in Sickbay, and half went with Ensign Silberman to Engineering. I reported to the bridge.
For some strange reason that I just can't fathom, I was asked to pilot the ship. Into battle. I guess I did all right, since we made it out, but I'm sure Engineering would have one heck of a lot less damage to repair had there been an actual pilot at the helm instead of me. What's funny, is that I made sure all of the Science department brushed up on combat training. This includes myself. So, if we had to see some hand to hand combat, we would have done fine. I never even THOUGHT to brush up on my piloting skills.
We had an interesting fight against the Jem Hadar. All I can say, is that the USS Fragglerock has some very ingenious crewmembers. The things they used for weapons is beyond believable. I found myself paying attention to what they would hurl next, than to where I was flying the ship. I finally had to change the sensors on my panel to not tell me what they were using ... just tell me that something was there, and to avoid it.
I will be very happy this week, back in the Science lab. We are going to have a fairly long haul putting everything back to the way it should be. Many of my personnel are still helping Engineering do basic repairs and helping out where need be. Until we are back to full operating capacity, I'm sure that's the way it will be. I also hope I see some more "mundane" duty shifts for a while. I need some normalcy back in my life.
